金木水火土星的中英文名字是否巧合？
一直對這五大行星的中英文有點疑問。水星（Mercury），Mercury在英文里還有水銀的意思，是水星給人的感覺像液態的嗎；土星（Saturn），英文有農神的意思，是土星長得像土地嗎？這兩大行星中西命名不能說沒有巧合吧。至於其他三大行星，金星（Venus）、木星（Jupiter）、火星（Mars）我則沒有找到什麼很巧的地方。
可千萬別說這五大行星叫金木水火土是近現代跟西方學的，因為古籍就有把五行與五星結合的說法了，比如《淮南子》的天文訓。謝謝！

Mars is Named After...Why choose to name the planet Jupiter? It was the largest object in the sky; therefore the most powerful; therefore Jupiter.
How Did Venus Get its Name?Many believe that ancient peoples associated Mars with bloodshed and war because of its red color.
Venus was named after the Roman Goddess of Love (in Greek, Aphrodite). In ancient times, Venus was known to the Babylonians as Ishtar, the goddess of womanhood and love, so the planet has a long standing tradition of being associated with amore.
這裡沒有解釋清楚，根據Wikipedia的說法：
《史記·天官書》確實有「天有五星，地有五行」的說法，但是並沒有具體說為什麼如此對應。The Venus tablet of Ammisaduqa, believed to have been compiled around the mid-seventeenth century BCE, shows the Babylonians understood the two were a single object, referred to in the tablet as the "bright queen of the sky", and could support this view with detailed observations.
如果以羅馬命名為準，金木水火土裡只有「水」算是真巧合，但也是以「水銀」這個根本巧合為中介的間接巧合。
土星不算巧合，是因為羅馬神話里自有正印土地神/地母神，還有田地神。這就類似風伯、雨師、雷公、電母，不能硬點其中一個，把別家在同條產業鏈上的專業都搶到自己名下。
說到底，這五大行星的中西命名，不但思路源頭完全不同，真要說巧合也基本沒什麼巧合可言，就這樣。
當然，從地球上用肉眼觀測，這些行星的顏色還是有目共睹的，基於顏色作聯想，加以比喻修辭，還是可能找到巧合文本的。金屬許多是銀白的，火是紅的，土是黃的，都可以有；木是藍的，水是黑的，就非常難找朋友。然而就算找到，這些也明顯只是間接巧合了。行星的英文名來自羅馬（希臘）神話諸神
水星——Mercury——墨丘利墨丘利跑的很快，因此跑的最快的水星用他的名字命名金星——Venus——維納斯這個大家都認識
火星——Mars——馬爾斯馬爾斯是戰爭的象徵，可能因為火星看起來是紅色的讓人容易聯想到血腥和戰爭木星——Jupiter——朱庇特就是宙斯，掌管天界土星——Saturn——薩圖努斯農神，這個神後來貌似跟克洛諾斯合體了（大誤，其實就是混同了）天王星——Uranus——烏拉諾斯顧名思義，但是這個名字是希臘神話中的天空之神，這裡不是羅馬神話中的名字海王星——Neptune——尼普頓羅馬神話中的海神，差不多就是大家熟悉的希臘神話里的
海神波塞冬冥王星——Pluto——普魯托說冥王哈迪斯（希臘神話中的）應該知道的人更多一點穀神星——Ceres——瑟爾斯顧名思義就是穀神啦當然最後兩個按現在的分類應該是矮行星中國古代確實就是五行對應肉眼可見的五大行星，金木水火土，至於名字巧合應該只是巧合吧
