1 歷史學家塞西爾·伍德姆-史密斯在《大饑荒：愛爾蘭1845年-1849年》一書中寫道，無可爭辯的事實證明，在大批愛爾蘭人被餓死期間，大量的食物從愛
爾蘭被運往英格蘭。利物浦大學的克里斯廷·金厄利也表示，在整個愛爾蘭大饑荒時期，愛爾蘭出口的牛犢、家畜、鹹豬肉和火腿日益增多，這些食物在武裝押運
下，從饑荒最嚴重的愛爾蘭各地區裝船，運往英格蘭。貧窮的愛爾蘭人眼睜睜看著食物被運走，因為他們沒有錢購買食物，只能坐以待斃。

2 奧斯曼阿卜杜默西德（Sultan Abdülmecid I）宣布他將向愛爾蘭饑民捐資1萬英鎊。不過，維多利亞要求蘇丹捐資1000英鎊即可，因為女王本人不過捐資2000英鎊。於是蘇丹在捐資1000英鎊之後，又「悄悄」將三船糧食運到愛爾蘭，援助饑民。此外，1847年，美國喬克托部族（Choctaw）也籌集了710美元善款捐助給愛爾蘭饑民
