什麼是「詩和遠方」？是心中的夢想，是心靈的聖土，是崇高的信仰，是理想中美好生活的樣子。

那麼問題來了，「苟且」是眼前的「苟且」，是現在不得不去面對的現實。而「詩和遠方」是未來的「詩和遠方」，是遙遠的飄渺如煙的臆想。

而我們不過是一介凡人，要如何跨越現實的種種阻礙才能到達遙不可及的遠方呢？這顯然是個偽命題，因為現實是已知的，未來是未知的，我們只能把握住已知的生活，而無法斷定未知的生活，所以，「遠方」可能永遠都只是「遠方」，生活可能不止有眼前的「苟且「，還會有未來的「苟且」。

顯而易見，你眼前的「苟且「越是苟延殘喘，出於自我慰藉，你所嚮往的」遠方「就會越是綺麗炫目。因此，你所處的現實生活與理想生活之間的鴻溝也越是難以逾越。

不得不說，這句話本身確實對不少人起到了激勵作用，然而雞湯再好喝，其本質依舊是精神麻藥，喝多了難免神志不清，分不清當下的當務之急與夢境的虛虛實實。
