歷史上有哪些我們熟知的名人支持奴隸制?

我是看完《為奴十二年》之後有這種疑問的，所以奴隸制特指的是美國的奴隸制。聽說美國國父華盛頓也支持奴隸制很好奇

18世紀中期以前，幾乎所有西方思想家都是支持奴隸制的。

蘇格拉底-柏拉圖-亞歷士多德，認為人類應該各司其職，有些人生來就是奴隸（亞歷士多德認為主人是猴子進化的，奴隸是爬行動物進化出來的）羅馬更不用說了

基督教理論家們也好不到哪兒去，奧古斯丁表示完全可以接受,托馬斯阿奎那明確支持奴隸制。雖然最早的廢奴理念來源於長期被主流基督教打壓的異端貴格派。

It was not Christianity which freed the slave: Christianity accepted slavery; Christian ministers defended it; Christian merchants trafficked in human flesh and blood, and drew their profits from the unspeakable horrors of the middle passage. Christian slaveholders treated their slaves as they did the cattle in their fields: they worked them, scourged them, mated them , parted them, and sold them at will. Abolition came with the decline in religious belief, and largely through the efforts of those who were denounced as heretics.

啟蒙時代,約翰洛克明確表明奴隸制是完全可以接受的。他本人積極投資北美奴隸貿易,發了大財。

傑斐遜和華盛頓儘管表示奴隸制道德上應該譴責，但認為如果廢除，那麼奴隸們沒有能力看護他們自己，奴隸們自己會餓死。所以奴隸制對他們是必要的。而且2個人玩女黑奴都玩得很high.華盛頓還從非常緊張的預算中給出緊急財政撥款和軍事支援法國人鎮壓在海地的奴隸起義。

富蘭克林也很曖昧，認為如果不非常謹慎的處理奴隸制，其會是邪惡的（言下之意,好好處理可以)

任美國總統都明確表示支持奴隸制。

南北戰爭時代，南方總司令羅伯特李是明確反對奴隸制的，戴維斯總統主張漸進廢奴。北軍將領格蘭特是蓄奴的。

19世紀的SCP基金會某高級官員曾將黑奴逃跑行為視為某種異常效應加以分類和收容,也就是說把黑人視為天生的奴隸,他們逃跑反而是不正常的.可見當時基金會是支持奴隸制的.
