如何評價Ed Obrien的吉他水平？
radiohead的二號吉他手，但大部分人只注意他的和聲，因為風頭被綠木搶了...現在想了解一下他的吉他怎麼樣
謝邀！作為rh隊內最接近現代社會正常人的成員，Ed不會像桶木一樣隨時尬舞，也不會像綠木一樣渾身抽搐，雖然Colin和Phil也很低調，但他們一個有張大猩猩臉，另一個則會讓人驚呼：人群中出現了一個光頭！
不過，在滾石選出的 100 Greatest Guitarist 中，Ed排名第59，多少能說明一些問題。
Radiohead"s two lead guitarists have a symbiotic relationship. Greenwood is closer to a traditional lead man; those are his unwell bends at the end of "Just" and "Paranoid Android." O"Brien likes the wacky noises; the ghostly above-the-nutjangle on OK Computer"s "Lucky" and the high, reverberating pops on Hail to the Thief"s "2 + 2 = 5" are his handiwork.

我是沒幸看到過現場，只能在油管上怨念地看視頻。就說最近的，月坑的巡演裡弦樂的部分很多都交給Ed來刷和弦了。除了新歌，你們猜creep前奏的分解和弦是誰彈的？另外，Reddit上的Ed粉有過更深刻的見解If you listen to In Rainbows for example, one of the most beautiful moments on the album is Thom"s line, "You"ll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking" during Nude. A big part of what makes that moment is the way Ed"s ethereal, heavily-reverberated guitar leads you up to it, then it takes a step back to let you eventually hear the whole track reduce itself down to Thom"s voice on it"s own as he hits that really high note. It"s a truly gorgeous moment, backed by Ed"s use of reverbs and echoes. And In Rainbows is made a great album by a lot of moments like this (e.g. The final third of Weird Fishes, The walls of sound that fill out All I Need and House of Cards, and the way he backs up the melody of Videotape on the basement version, which is arguably better than the album version... ).

現場的感受可以等知乎上眾多（令人羨慕的）看過現場的朋友來講解。Ed好像說過自己並不喜歡在台上過於顯眼，就喜歡在旁邊靜靜彈吉他。（找不到出處了）
其實他也有過類似我們替他擔憂的擔憂。He initially struggled with the band"s change in direction, saying: "It"s scary – everyone feels insecure. I"m a guitarist and suddenly it"s like, well, there are no guitars on this track, or no drums."

但是事實證明我們和Ed一樣都想多了。在 BBC Radio 6 的採訪中，Ed講了一些他的花邊新聞。他的兩個娃在04年和06年出生，在KOL巡演結束後他決定跟家人到巴西去享受一段時間天倫之樂……於是他跟樂隊的基友們說，我要去巴西歸隱田園了，你們自己搞一張專輯吧，反正沒有我你們也能搞，你們就別管我了，如果有一天我還能回來，我們再……說著說著開始抽泣（劃掉）。於是他就去過起了神仙般的生活，每天送了娃去學校就跑到熱帶雨林里修仙。然而，沒想到桶木根本就不放過他，桶木說，我知道你玩Pro Tools那些玩意兒6得飛起，你就把Pro Tools的活兒都幹了吧！（可惡的領導）結果每次Ed去山裡看風景還得夾個Macbook出去……最後搞了兩個月就把自己搞煩了，Ed最終說出了心裡話：教練，我想彈吉他……T_T反倒是在巴西看了幾天桑巴表演給Ed留下了深刻的印象，從中獲取了不少靈感。（來源：Radiohead』s Ed O』Brien Plans Debut Solo Album）
此外，Ed在隊外也過很多和其他人的合作，維基上也都有列出。同時也和Phil一起在倫敦的一個音樂學院當老師。採訪中他還說準備在17年也要發一張個人專輯……Maybe I should release a solo album…..I could call it "The Pencil", just to annoy Thom.
