英語單詞consequent,consecutive,subsequent,successive的用法和其不同之處?
近來背單詞,這幾個詞都有連續的,接連的的意思,有點混淆不清,還請英語大神講講他們的用法

好了現在我們來用韋氏詞典上的解釋來看看這幾個詞有神馬區別。網站裡面有很多個解釋,我一般直接看full definition.我其他時候用這個詞典的時候會去看origin來幫助記憶,btw。
consequentfollowing as a result or effect &Overall, yes consecutively and successively are equivalent.
On closer examination, there is a slight difference though. In consecutively, there is no gap. Insuccessively there is just some order.
For instance "in close/short succession" is sometimes preferred to "in succession" to emphasize consecutiveness.
For instance:
1, 2 and 3 are consecutive numbers
1, 2 and 4 are successive numbers but they are not consecutive.
So for non discrete quantities you would probably prefer "successive" (as in "successive events") and for discrete quantities with no gaps you could use "consecutive" as in "2 consecutive days".
在用consecutive的時候連續的兩個東西直接是沒有gap(斷層?)的,而successive可以有,但是要有一定的規律。successive的原型是success, success的原型是succeed, which does NOT mean成功,而是繼承,也就是後者繼承了前者的規律。差不多這麼理解嗯。在用的時候,尤其是日常使用或者閱讀時,很少會需要你去區分。
