有什麼詞源嗎？

balance 指的是賬戶的狀況，並不一定指餘額。例如信用卡賬戶，balance 顯示的就是負債多少，而不是餘額了。

用 balance 應該源自複式記賬法，ledger 里要保證 debit = credit，就像保持天平平衡一樣。

這個意思源於動詞——使平衡，賬務方面總是要有預算和實際支出的結算

有點類似像漢語里擺平的意思

每次交易都會付款可能有欠供貨商尾款未結清的情況出現，（古時候都有預付款這一說）

所以當最終交易完成時都會出現，預算和實際支出的結賬平衡。我自己造了一個詞結平。

我猜可能跟balance table有關吧，左邊是資產，右邊是負債，所以相減之後就是餘額了。

balance原意是兩個測量盤。那麼或許可以引申為剩下的一盤子東西，就是餘額了。純屬胡猜。

有一大堆錢，一小堆貨物，放在天平上平衡balance後，多出來的一部分錢，叫"餘額"。
