英語中有哪些逼格比較高的詞，可以換掉類似good、way、think這些噁心的詞？

日常生活里，口語中出現的簡單辭彙可以湊成較有意思的中文文意，如hell可以被理解為：「什麼鬼」、「萬歲」；Like you care可以被理解為：「惺惺作態」等。但在書面語中就成了上不了檯面的辭彙。
哪裡有系統性總結以便可以用逼格比較高的詞把形如good、way、think這些噁心的詞換掉？

學會結合詞典查 thesaurus。

就像廚師不會說鹽很「噁心」，設計師不會說藍色很「噁心」，good、way、 think這些詞本身當然也不「噁心」。但是如果設計師只用藍色，或者廚師炒菜只會放鹽，那就是一場災難了。假如我們遇到了題主的情況，在用英文寫作的時候腦袋裡來來回回就幾個詞，整篇文章味同嚼蠟，有沒有辦法挽救一下呢？

這個時候我們需要兩本詞典，一本是 thesaurus，另一本是（優質的）英英詞典。前者比較好的有[1,2]，後者比較好的有[2,3]。這幾本都有電子版，我每天都在用。

拿題目中的幾個詞舉例，假如題主是一個女神，想對追求者說「你是個好人」，"good person" 也可以，但是顯然不太能滿足需求。

這時候 thesaurus 就能派上用場了，拿[1]舉例：

是不是視野一下開拓很多？遵紀守法能用 law-abiding，道德高尚可以用 virtuous，細心謹慎可以用 scrupulous，誠實守信可以用 trustworthy……

但是並不是所有的詞我們都認識呀！替換詞也不是說隨便挑隨便選就行。這時候就需要一本正經詞典來拯救我們了。比如 "a righteous persion" 是指哪種人呢？拿[3]舉例

最後，每查一次記得總結，積累一點 thesaurus 里的詞，做點筆記，沒事拿出來看看什麼的。以後寫作的時候，如果一時想不起來也沒關係，寫完把不滿意的表達逐個改就行。長此以往慢慢的就積累下來了。

原來寫作老師說了一句話一直記得「good wording doesn"t sweat」好的文章讀起來不讓人出汗不要一味用大詞高端詞，特別是寫作中出現了很抽象的辭彙又不定義解釋就很合適。

大多數替換詞都是近義詞而非同義詞，濫用替換詞的結果就是語氣無比強烈而且描述內容反而不切實際。

我的建議是好好背單詞，同時大量閱讀各種文章材料，議論文尤佳，自己總結「替換詞」的使用環境。

一個人的知識文化水平可以從他的說話用詞來評判出來。尤其是在英語中，不同等級的辭彙體現著不同等級的文化水平。下面挑選了10個超酷超帶逼格的詞，希望大家喜歡。

1. Picayune

不值錢的；眼光狹小的；微不足道的

這個詞帥中帶萌，讀起來有點像Pikachu。美國人一般不知道這個詞，其中包括部分老師。Picayune一般用來表示某個東西很不值錢，比cheap的程度重些，和valueless用法和程度相似。或者是形容某個東西很不重要，用法和trivial還有insignificant相似。有時也用來形容人眼光狹小，土裡土氣，沒有遠見。在這個意思層面上和improvident還有provincial用法相似。在文章里用一下這個詞還是很能提升逼格的，平時口語就不要用了，小心被打。

Ps：這個詞同時還是西班牙的一種硬幣的名字，顧名思義，不值多少錢

2. Fecund

肥沃的；多產的；生殖力旺盛的

當需要描述多產的，富饒的，大多數人都會用productive或fertile，英語辭彙量大些的人會用prolific。Fecund這個詞則是在另一個更高的等級上，具有相當高的逼格（同義詞feracious的逼格甚至更高，不過太古老現在已經被歸納為罕用語）。這個詞相對上面的picayune來說更為人知，能在美國高中當老師的大部分肯定都知道，用在文章里能提升不少逼格（我自己就用過好幾次，老師還誇我用得好）。Fecund這個詞比較多向化，可以描述土地肥沃，動物生殖力強，生意收益多，有時也可以用來描述某人創作能力強。

西班牙歌手阿爾瓦羅`索勒以他超強的創作能力出名。

3. Bibulous

嗜酒的；吸水的

又是一個聽起來很喜感的單詞。Bibulous這個詞一般用來形容吸水性強的東西，例如吸墨紙bibulous paper和海綿 sponge，在這個層面上近義詞有hydrophil。它更深的意思是形容一個人嗜酒，愛酒如命。一些小說作家會喜歡用這個詞來描述醉漢。比較常見的同義詞有alcoholic和boozy，都形容愛嗜酒的人。這個詞並不算特別的偏僻，所以和美國人談論某某喜歡瘋狂喝酒的習慣時，用bibulous來替代alcoholic能提升逼格，豐富談資。

又是一個很炫酷的辭彙，Kaleidoscopic衍生於萬花筒Kaleidoscope，所以顧名思義，Kaleidoscopic就是來形容千變萬化的事物的詞。還有另外兩個同等難度的同義詞，Protean（讀普肉蒂恩，不是Protein）和Daedal，然而Kaleidoscopic比這兩個詞無論是看上去還是聽起來都要更高逼格。Kaleido（一種化學成像玩具，和萬花筒作用相似）+scope（鏡）就成了萬花筒Kaleidoscope，再加個形容詞後綴就成了Kaleidoscopic。這個詞也可以用來形容顏色五彩繽紛。平時日常說話就不要用這個詞了，放在文章里到時能提升不少逼格。

6. Outfox

以機智勝過

說到智取，很多人會想到outsmart，好一點的outwit或是circumvent，真正高逼格的是outfox。真正吸引人的是這個詞的構造，out（超過）+fox（狐狸），狐狸代表的就是狡猾和機智，這兩個詞放在一起來表達「智取」實在是酷，又是一個高逼格能提升談資的詞，趕快放到你的字典里吧！

例句：

Luis and Jose had a huge fight yesterday, during which Luis eventuall youtfoxed Jose by pushing him into a swamp instead of fighting.

路易斯和何塞昨天打了一架，最後路易斯智取了何塞，把他推到了沼澤里。

7. Iridescence

彩虹色

彩虹應該是世界上最美的幾個自然現象之一了，七種顏色的排列組合更是讓人賞心悅目。普通人想用英文表達彩虹色一般都用rainbow，然而還有一個更高逼格的詞，那就是iridescence，形容詞是iridescent，還有一些簡化的同義詞例如irised和irisated。這個詞的詞根Iri來源於彩虹女神Iris，scence表示一種現象。順便推薦一首Linkin Park的歌，名字就叫Iridescence，是變形金剛3的主題曲。

例句：

The huge pool of blood in front of her was already assuming the iridescence of coagulation.

她面前的一灘血水已經凝固了，宛如彩虹的色彩。

8. Eidetic

異常清晰的；極為逼真的；栩栩如生的

Eidetic其實是一個心理學專用名詞。意思是極為逼真的，異常清晰的，或是歷歷在目的，一般用來描述頭腦中的清晰的畫面和印象或者某人的超強記憶能力，也可以形容事物看上去很逼真，近義詞有verisimilar, realistic和lifelike，但是程度都沒有這個詞重。當你想描述某件很特殊的經歷可以用這個詞來形容那段記憶有多麼令人印象深刻。在誇某個人的記憶力很強時也可以用這個詞來替代retentive或者是have a good memory，逼格立馬就起來了。這是筆者單詞本里最酷的詞之一，拿出來給大家分享一下。

例句：

When he was twelve he』d learned that he』d been born with an eidetic memory.

當他還只有十二歲的時候，他就知道他天生有超強的記憶力。

The car accident was so horrifying that it left such eidetic imagery in my mind.

那場車禍實在是太恐怖了，那血腥的景象我現在還歷歷在目。

9. Stentorian

聲音洪亮的

這個詞有點像上面提到的iridescence，詞根也是來源於歐洲古代故事裡的人物的名字。Stentor是荷馬敘事詩中聲音洪亮的傳令官斯坦特，他只要一聲吼，方圓五百里以內的人都能聽見。這個詞的逼格不輸iridescence，也是相當的流弊。一般人形容聲音大會用loud，逼格高一點的用resonant或者sonorous，再高一點的用orotund。還有一個詞plangent和這個詞的逼格等級一樣，屬於罕用語，但是並不如stentorian有魅力。平時交談的時候甩出這個詞還是很酷的。我在賓大上夏校的時候，教授曾經用這個詞來調侃他的弟弟打呼嚕很大聲，滿滿的逼格。

例句：

Please speak softly; you don』t need a stentorian voice to be heard in this tiny room.

說話請小聲點；在這麼小的房間里你沒必要那麼大聲說話讓所有人聽見。

10. Comeuppance

因果報應；應得的懲罰

Come+up+(p)ance 兩個詞再加上一個名詞後綴就形成了這個詞（這種構詞方式還是很酷的）。這個詞意思就是報應，比同義詞Karma要更重一些。例如某人剛剛在聚會時嘲笑了他的朋友的新髮型，聚會結束後剛出門就摔了一跤，這種時候就可以調侃一下說Karma。而comeuppance則不同，相比karma，這個詞程度更嚴重一些。例如昨天一個搶劫犯殺了人放了火，第二天出門買早餐時被車意外撞死，這種時候用comeuppance合適一點。這個詞相比於retribution逼格高多了，更口語一些，歪果仁聽起來也會比較舒服。

然而沒記錯的話，一般英語國家日常用語也常用這幾個辭彙，那些所謂的高逼格多出現在文獻里，我記得以前外教說過，難道你們的日常用語是之乎者也嗎？（這個外教是個中國通，輔修古漢語....）

這三個字還不是那麼常用，但是問題是語境不同，聲調不同意義也就不一樣了。

同理，英語的那些常用辭彙good，yes，think等在不同的語境中使用也是有不同的感覺的。比如，想像昏暗酒吧，響起慢調子的靡靡之音，角落裡，一大杯啤酒旁邊一個四十歲的黑胖子一身黑西服，領帶松垮垮地，雙眼盯著一個脫衣舞女郎的時候，慢慢點頭，厚實的雙唇中摩擦出一個單調沉重且托踏冗長的音節「gooood」，隨後右手食指拇指不自覺地touch下巴。--------這時候感覺good效果不錯。應時應景，很搭語境！

語言都是幾千年沉澱下來的，去粗取精，去偽存真，那有什麼低級辭彙啊，只是你用的地方不對而已。小夥子腦洞不夠，想像力有待提高。
