promote 和improve的用法有什麼區別？

Promote - to further or advance the progress of something or someone

其實簡單來說，promote更有種「外在力量推進推動的」意思，而improve側重「內在的提高」。

這兩個詞的語義不同，基本上沒什麼好混淆的吧？

Promote的意思是推廣，如promote Chinese culture.

Promote還有升職的意思，如He was promoted last year.他去年升職了。

Improve是進步，提高的意思，如improve my English proficiency，提高我的英語熟練度。如果換成promote my English proficiency，就變成了推廣我的英語熟練度，說不通。
