如果追求信達雅，give you shelter from the storm後面的直接賓語shelter from the storm 翻譯成暴風暴中的避風港真的好嗎？至少我認為不夠「達」。shelter如果作避難所解，作為一個具像可數的事物，顯然前面應該加a或或者the，這裡不適用零冠詞。即使不考慮冠詞，為了翻譯成「暴風雨中的」，介詞應該由from改為in,a shelter in the storm才是暴風雨中的避風港。為什麼用from呢，查下詞典我們知道shelter還作及物動詞和不及物動詞使用，意思較為抽象，為「保護庇護掩蔽避難躲避」，那麼用from作介詞順利順理成章，shelter sbody from sth。由此，我們有理由相信它可以直接作動名詞使用或者是具有跟動詞意義的普通名詞，那麼原介詞短語某種程度上可視為動名詞短語。後面原句因此可翻譯成，我會給予你避開暴風雨的保護（庇護），當然這樣翻譯不好聽，那就翻譯成:
