為什麼「pro」在 Google 翻譯中被翻譯成「親」？

哈哈，想起了以前聽老師講的笑話：

pro這個前綴是「贊成、支持、親」的意思，pro-American是什麼意思？（眾人答：親美的）

那pro-nuclear是什麼意思？（眾人答：支持核武器、支持核能的）

那prostate是什麼意思？（眾人答：支持國家的？有高人說「不對，應該是支持州權的」）這個詞的意思是「前列腺」。

因為確實有「親」的意思。

例如描述政治取向時，pro democratic 意思就是親民主黨。

pro是源於拉丁語的，對應的是for，經常說的短語pros and cons 就是Latin expression "pro et contra"的簡寫(for and against)

pro- means "before, in advance, in place of"

extended from per-, which means "through, forward"

If you stand before something, possibily you support it.

Note that prefix pre- also means "before" and is extended from per-.

Pro不是蛋白質嗎？

之前學過這個前綴，pro好像有＂趨向於、傾向於＂的意思，再加上詞根gress，所以progrees就是前進、進步的意思了。

pro，拉丁語中的前置詞。表示 "為了...", 要求後面接的名詞使用奪格形式。例如 Aqua pro injectione. 注射用水。至於英語的使用方法及廣泛含義，還是需要考慮context.
