有哪些英文詩是每個說英語的人都知道的？

就是native speaker都會背，俗到爛大街，跟中文鵝鵝鵝，床前明月光，離離原上草，一支紅杏出牆來那種差不多的？

Simple answer: they don"t exist.

I read many other answers, unfortunately, I don"t know many of the poems that were mentioned.

I wish there were poems that all the native English speakers knew by heart. But because of the development of English in many different countries, there are many cultural differences, leading to not everyone knowing the same poems. Also, poetry isn"t deeply ingrained in the culture of very many native English speaking countries, as Chinese poems are in China.

People may know parts of poems or Shakespeare"s plays from pop culture or studying them in school, for example:

"To be or not to be/ That is the question" - from Hamlet
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— /I took the one less traveled by,/ And that has made all the difference." - by Robert Frost
"Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou, Romeo?" - from Romeo and Juliet

but few people know the whole poem.

There"s not even a poem that my whole family can recite, because we grew up in different places. My dad is Australian, my mum lived in the U.S. for part of her childhood, and my older sister was born in New Zealand, so they don"t know the Canadian poetry I am familiar with.

On the other hand, English speaking culture is passed on through songs rather than poetry. Singing used to be a common pass-time at family gatherings and big events. There are many songs that almost all the native English speakers would know no matter where they are from, especially Christmas carols (these can have a religious connotation, so maybe not ALL the native English speakers are comfortable admitting they know them), children"s songs, and some folk songs. For example:

"Deck the Halls" Deck the What?
"Jingle Bells"
"When the Saints Go Marching In"
"Old MacDonald had a Farm"
"Scarborough-fair"
"Amazing Grace"

其實吧，不管什麼詩都做不到每個母語者都聽說過，只能說多數人聽過或是知道吧。

基礎教育方面，英美的英文課和中國的中文課不太一樣。

我們國家的語文課很大程度上是文學教育，詩詞歌賦，散文小說，各種文學體裁都有涉及。這是自古以來就形成的中文教學體系，再加上我們對背誦的推崇，自然而然全民都會背詩。

國外的英文課和文學課是兩門不同的課程，i.e. English and English Literature are two separate courses. 英文課培養的是語言的運用能力，理解他人的觀點，辯證地看待問題，能清楚地表達自己，寫出嚴謹的論述。

文學課則是研究語言的藝術，解讀詩歌小說戲劇，和我們的語文課有類似之處。文學課在英美的教育里是選修課程，不喜歡的話就不必去學，所以很多人可能說了一輩子的英語，也沒有認真讀過一首詩。
