看到前高盛的副主席 Michael Evans 跳到了阿里巴巴擔任總裁一職。
想問問他是何許人也，都有哪些厲害的經歷？現實中是一個怎樣的人？關於他都有哪些故事？

Mike Evans，是中國人民的老朋友。

美國前財長Henry Paulson最近出了一本書，Dealing with China，回憶了他作為高盛合伙人，高盛CEO期間與中國人民做生意的種種奇遇經歷。
其中還包括促成一家境外NGO在雲南建立自然保護區，當時與會的有長者，周小川，雲南省長，這樣的組合。大家體會一下。
但是這本書應該不會在中國出版，所以大家想看可能也只能看英文版。

裡面提到，Mike Evans最早和中國政府打交道是在1997年中國電信上市。
當時並不存在中國電信這樣一個公司，所有的電信業務是在郵電部手下。
於是高盛在三大合伙人之一的Henry Paulson領導下，僅用了8個月的時間從無到有的幫助郵電部重組了業務，將資質較好的廣東和浙江的行動電話業務放入新組建的公司並承諾將其它省的行動電話業務逐步注入該公司。這家上市的公司最後命名叫做中國移動。

Mike Evans全程參與了該項目。和政界的各位大佬都有交集。

Goldman doesn』t publicly disclose annual compensation for Evans. But according to a recent regulatory filing, Evans owned 673,031 Goldman common shares. At the current stock price, the shares are worth $110 million. He also was among a group of senior executives at Goldman who decided to forgo their bonuses for 2008.
