如何用英語得體地表達「上大號」和「上小號」？

1. 有一次陪一個國外的朋友去一個做模具的廠家，然後他告訴我想上廁所。我問那個老闆：「請問您的衛生間在哪？我朋友想上廁所。」老闆回答我：「我們的廁所有點壞了，只能上小號，不能上大號。」到現在為止，我都沒有想到合適的方法去翻譯。
2. 另外一次有個國外的朋友病了，我去醫院看望他。然後醫生過來跟我說：「你是翻譯嗎？你告訴病人讓他3個小時內先不要上小號，我們要先做檢查。」
上小號用pee對嗎？但是感覺正式場合有點不對呢。

To answer the original question:

In the first situation, one could say: "The bathroom/toilet is broken, you can only go number 1/ you can urinate only."
In the second situation, one could say: "Don"t urinate for 3 hours."

I will categorize some other ways to say these phrases in different settings:

Formal setting (don"t specify "大號" and "小號")

I have to go to the bathroom/washroom/restroom.
I would like to go to the men"s/ladies" room (old-fashioned people/asking a waiter/waitress where those rooms are)

Business casual settings (don"t specify "大號" and "小號")

I have to go do (my) business.
Nature calls.
To me, this would be strange to use directly to mean "I have to go to the bathroom". Someone might use it to make someone going to the bathroom feel less awkward. For example, a group of friends are playing a board game then:
Bob: I need to go to the bathroom.
Joe: Nature calls.

Friends and Family

Number 2 (大號)
Number 1 (小號)
I have to poo. (大號)
I have to pee. (小號)
I have to urinate. (小號)

Really close friends (silly friends)

I"m gonna take a dump. (大號)
I have to take a piss. (小號)

These are how a doctor would ask you in a hospital setting:

How is your stool? (大號)
Do you have regular bowel movements? (大號)
What is your urine like? (小號)

後來熟悉到什麼程度呢？我倆經常沒羞沒臊的去他租的房子里，陪他談笑風生

他是美韓混血，雖然那時來中國呆了一年，不過只會比較簡單的幾句中文

「你好」「帥」「漂亮」「多少錢」「謝謝」「聽不懂」

生活起居都靠這幾句

所以我倆和他交流都是用英語的，好在我口語還算不錯，跟他交流起來問題不大

他教會了我不少國外很常見，但國內教材上絕對教不了的東西

比如ttyl，idk，lol等

我們也教會了他一些有意思的中文

比如傻逼……（但告訴了他具體用法，要慎用）逗逼……牛逼……

其中，關於入廁用語也有涉及

一般來講，小號可以用「No. 1」來表示，大號則是「No. 2」

忽略大小號區別的話，這句話其實很好用，又不失優雅：

「Nature is calling me.」

自然在呼喚我，引申為想要去衛生間

打這句話開始，我逐漸意識到，英文也有其博大精深之處，

「自然在呼喚我」，多有意思的一句話
