關於米高梅的 Freed Unit，有哪些趣事？

這是五張紀錄片 Musicals Great Musicals 的截圖。可以大致看出 Freed Unit 的布局。
相應的是 Arthur Freed 的秘書 Mildred Kaufman 的介紹——
It was a complete suit of offices. There was one for Mr. Freed, his office plus his conference room and then Roger Edens had an office, then another office was used by Lela Simonse. She was responsible for the music editing. There was always a time when music was coming out of Roger Eden"s office. We were just sit there and tap our feet and, and to sing along.那個紀錄片裡面放了一段 Strike Up The Band (1940) 里的 Our Love Affair，然後切到老年 Mickey Rooney，他笑眯眯地唱了幾句，然後說——
"We"ll fuss and quarrel, and tears start to brew, but half to the tears the sun will shine through." You can"t get any better than that. That was Arthur Freed.

當時就被感動了，這個老頭好可愛。

"And now may I present Mr. Nacio Herb Brown, the composer at the piano, and Mr. Arthur Freed, the lyricist, who also writes the words."

（Nacio Herb Brown 和 Arthur Freed 一起寫了很多歌，後來 Arthur Freed 想把這些歌用在一部電影里，他的編劇 Betty Comden 和 Adolph Green 都想說辭職走人算了，但 Gene Kelly 說沒問題啊，雨中曲的話我在雨中邊唱邊跳就是了嘛，於是有了 Singin" In The Rain。）
Arthur 當時唱的這首歌很好聽，找了好久也沒找到，有一次偶然在蝦米聽見，原來叫作 The Wedding Of The Painted Doll。
