不想去某個學校，那麼怎樣把拒信寫好?

寫得既簡潔明了有不失溫情(達到那種雖然不能在一起但還能做朋友的感覺哈哈)。在論壇上並沒有太多這方面的帖子，所以嘗試在這裡尋求答案。畢竟我們要為以後的學弟學妹的申請考慮，把拒絕學校的影響做到最小化。

Thank you for expressing your interest in accepting me as a student at XXXX University. However, due to the large amount of acceptances I received this year, I regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your acceptance at this time.

Please be aware that this rejection does not reflect any negative evaluation on your acceptance materials. This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually large number of acceptance letters. With such a varied and promising result, it is impossible for me to accept all acceptances, regardless their outstanding accepting performances.

學校的錄取部門沒有人會看這些，負責發材料什麼的無非是一些行政人員，你不去那個學校將來一輩子也不太可能跟他們做朋友的。就算學校會統計某個地方來的人拒絕他們offer的比例，考慮以後是不是還給這個地方的人發offer，也不會把你有沒有好好寫拒信統計進去。
但是如果你申請的時候聯繫過教授，表達過對他/她的研究內容很有興趣，老師已經知道有你這個人了，那就寫封郵件跟老師說一聲比較好。即使沒有去這個老師門下讀書，合作搞科研的機會還是有的，而且將來在一個圈子裡混，學術會議啊投稿啊難保不會遇見，好好做朋友還是有必要的。大致就是說「非常感謝您的offer，您的研究方向我非常感興趣，但是另一個學校的項目可能更適合我，這對我來說也是一個非常艱難的決定，希望我們將來還有機會討論學術問題/合作科研」。
個人經驗：拒絕一個phd offer三年後在機場偶遇當年拒掉的老師，等飛機無聊中跑去跟老師談笑風生^_^

1. 如果有鏈接可以選擇Accept/Decline，那麼在網站上選擇即可，不需要寫拒信。

You don"t have to give them explanation for why you chose a different program. Just thank them sincerely for their time and their interest in you, but let them know that you have chosen a different program. (但不用指明是哪個)

Kindly to inform, one is quite busy in recent days, due to one"s marriage, one"s kids, and one"s work at her majesty"s government. 拒信沒有人會看第二眼的，把事情講清楚就好，最多再加一句禮貌一下，不要搞繁文縟節

如果非得要寫email的話，直接寫for some personal reason, I will not be able to attend your university，然後再寫兩句客套話就行了。寫多了也沒人看。

良心問題，希望過來人給個建議。

前面的水羊羊說得對，首先還是要看你有沒有聯繫教授，因為你之所以考慮拒信該怎麼寫其實就是考慮到這封拒信是要交到一個身份比較重要的人手中，你要顧及他/她的感受。但如果是不在乎你以何種方式來寫拒信的一般工作人員，那麼你直接據掉就是了，反正每年這樣的事情都會發生很多遍。

針對具體的某個人（教授），你當然有必要好好構思一下該如何優雅地寫拒信。

首先，再拒絕之前，你應該感謝，畢竟他給了你機會。雖然這是個很常見的套路，但套路有套路的好處，不然也不會成為套路了。

其次，你的態度，你要表現出自己是經過深思熟慮而不是隨意拒絕的。理由倒不一定多麼充分，但一定要表現出慎重考慮的態度。

最後，不要忘了，雖然你拒絕了這個offer，但將來大家還是有機會合作的，這裡可以點一下將來可能有合作的機會。

美國高校研究生院在給你發出offer的時候，基本都會在信里說明回復時間以及應該繳納的入學押金金額，所以對於不同學校回復情況就有所不同。

第一種情況：你肯定不去的學校的回復。對於你已經決定不去的學校，那回復就很簡單，按照學校要求的回復期限拒絕掉，當然拒絕的時候語氣可以委婉一點。如：

Dear xxx,

Thank you very much for your kind reply. It"s my pleasure to hear about this exciting news and I got lots of help from you during the whole process, Thank you very much.

I am sorry to tell you that I couldn"t go to your University. It"s really hard to reach such a decision. I"m sorry I can"t inform you earlier. I hope you can find another better student.

My best wishes to you.

第二種情況：A大學很早要求你回復，然而你目標大學B大學offer還沒來，對於這種情況怎麼處理呢？可以先跟A大學聯繫一下，看能否申請延期回復，很多大學都會同意這樣要求，可以一試，如果實在不行那就只能如期回復了。這個時候只能果斷一點，拒絕就如上，接受就可以這樣回復：

Dear XXX,

It"s my honor to received the offer and I decide to accept your offer! In these days, I became familiar with the city and the university. As far as I know, XXX is a great place to live and learn! So excellent to study in XXX. Thank you very much!

And would you please tell me whether I need to send my decision with a written statement to you？ Best regards!
