為什麼甘道夫不能拿魔戒？

至尊魔戒"ONE RING"對除索倫之外的人、精靈、矮人、邁雅來說（不知道對維拉管不管用呢?），在很大程度上就是一個超級慾望放大器。
只要心中有想要達成的願望，有慾望，魔戒就會利用它，放大它，扭曲它：
斯麥戈想要佔有魔戒，結果變成了咕嚕；
菠蘿莫想要用魔戒對抗索倫，保衛剛鐸，結果我們都看到了；
山姆想要的只是個小小的花園，拿上魔戒之後就開始想著成為此紀元最偉大的英雄....
甘道夫如果拿到魔戒，基本上可以肯定他會被魔戒扭曲，成為索倫或者薩魯曼第二了。

甘道夫如果戴上了戒指，他的力量會不亞於索倫。但他也清楚自己駕馭不了這種力量，最終會被魔戒所奴役，失去自我。
